Meet The Team

Eric A. Pettus




Eric Pettus is the president/founder of the Pettus & Dawkins Financial Group (PDFG). Pettus takes pride in providing a suite of high-quality financial services to the South Florida community and has become one of the area’s most recognized and sought-after financial advisors.

Prior to establishing PDFG, Pettus was the owner of an Ameriprise Financial Services franchise. He was with the company, formerly known as American Express Financial Advisors, for seven years where he earned several awards for providing superior levels of financial planning and client service. During his time there, he won the President’s Award in 2003 and 2004, and the Family and Financial Security Award from 2001 - 2006. Also in 2006, Pettus received a perfect rating of 100 percent from his clients in the annual client satisfaction survey, ranking him in the top one percent of advisors nationwide.

Before entering the field of financial planning, Pettus enjoyed a career in retail. He supervised loss prevention departments at Wackenhut Corporation, Caldor Inc., Eckerd Drug, Visionworks, CarMax, First North American National Bank, and Circuit City.

In 1997, Pettus started a consulting firm that specialized in small business development and quickly learned of the financial divide between small and minority businesses and their mainstream and larger counterparts. It was at this point that he shifted his focus to spreading an attainable financial message throughout South Florida. Recognizing his contributions to the South Florida community, in 2007, Pettus was included in the Inaugural Edition of Who’s Who In Black South Florida.

As founder/owner of PDFG, he does financial planning, specializing in the areas of: debt reduction, cash management strategies, protection planning through insurance, investment planning, home buying, education planning, tax strategies, retirement planning, estate strategies, and small business planning.

Eric Pettus is a graduate of Towson University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences. Pettus has two daughters, Cierra and Ciana.

Amy M. Dawkins, MBA




Amy Dawkins is the co-founder of the Pettus & Dawkins Financial Group (PDFG). Being a native of Miami, FL, Dawkins has seen the vast economic disparity that plagues this community and is determined to positively impact the financial lives of South Floridians. She realizes that PDFG has an obligation to effectively communicate financial knowledge to the masses. Dawkins takes great pride in helping individuals achieve financial independence by influencing their behavior and helping them make better financial decisions.

Prior to establishing PDFG, Dawkins was an Ameriprise Financial Services advisor. She was with the company, formerly known as American Express Financial Advisors, for two years. During that time, Dawkins earned recognition and invitations to events, conferences, and seminars attended by some of the top ranking advisors in the country.

Before entering the field of financial planning, Dawkins gained valuable experience in Corporate America. She has worked with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) as a vaccine sales representative responsible for increasing brand awareness and sales for their pediatric vaccine line in Chicago, IL. Dawkins has also worked for Toyota Motor Sales, Corp., in Torrance, CA, where she did marketing for Lexus. AirFlite Aviation Services, (a Toyota Subsidiary) later tasked Dawkins with the goal of improving their presence in the Fixed-Based Operations (FBO) market. Dawkins’ impact led to AirFlite earning industry recognition, achieving increased customer satisfaction, and fostering a more cohesive work environment.

Dawkins also had the pleasure of working in Public Administration as a Public Management Intern for the City of Miami, District 5.

In 2004, Dawkins earned a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Florida A&M University where she graduated magna cum laude. Being that retirement is one of the biggest milestones in a person’s life, this designation shows her commitment to helping her clients plan for it successfully.

The enthusiasm that she has exhibited in her career has also extended to the non-profit sector. Having affiliations with various churches, community development corporations (CDCs), and other non-profit organizations including the United Way, and Operation Hope. Dawkins has invested countless hours to raise awareness around the importance of financial literacy with those who may not have the resources to access sound financial education otherwise. Dawkins also has a strong commitment to the youth of her community. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, Dawkins enjoys addressing middle school, high school, and college-age students for Career Days and similar events.

Antonio C. Marshall

Senior Associate



Antonio Marshall, Sr. is a Senior Associate with the Pettus & Dawkins Financial Group (PDFG). Residing just outside of the nation’s capital, Marshall dedicates himself to meeting the unique challenges of his clients through a host of high-quality financial services. Working to design a personal financial plan based on his clients’ life goals, his strategies focus on clients becoming more confident about managing their financial objectives. Marshall seeks to achieve ongoing progress for his clients by taking into account changing market conditions and as well as changes in their individual situation.

Prior to joining PDFG, Marshall was the owner of an Ameriprise Financial Service Franchise. He was with the company, formerly known as American Express Financial Advisors, for seven years where he garnered a reputation for consistently offering numerous financial education seminars for non-profit, for-profit, professional, civic, and faith-based organizations.

Before entering the financial services industry, Marshall was previously employed with Verizon Wireless where he managed an independent chain comprised of multiple locations, which provided sales and service for various local and federal government entities, as well as Fortune 500 companies, both domestic and international. Prior to being employed with Verizon he owned and operated a courier business, Central Delivery Service, for seven years, where he learned the importance of offering superior customer service.

In addition to the outstanding service that he provides his clients, Marshall is also very active in his community. He co-leads a financial ministry through his church and has worked on a number of community outreach efforts, including a partnership with Feed The Children to provide food to needy families in the Baltimore area. Furthermore, Marshall has worked with the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation and as a local recreation association coach. He also serves as a mentor to many teenage boys.

Antonio is a graduate of the University of Baltimore, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Finance. He is married to his wonderful wife Lydia, and they have three beautiful children Antonio Jr., Katherine, and Daniel.
