Eric A. Pettus

Eric Pettus is the president/founder of the Pettus & Dawkins Financial Group (PDFG). Prior to establishing PDFG, Pettus was the owner of an Ameriprise Financial franchise. He was with the company, formerly known as American Express Financial Advisors, for seven years. Prior to entering the financial services industry, Pettus enjoyed a career in retail. He supervised loss prevention departments at Wackenhut Corporation, Caldor Inc., Eckerd Drug, Visionworks, CarMax, First North American National Bank, and Circuit City.
In 1997, Pettus started a consulting firm that specialized in small business development and quickly learned of the financial divide between small and minority businesses and their mainstream and larger counterparts. It was at this point that he shifted his focus to spreading an attainable financial message throughout South Florida. Recognizing his contributions to the South Florida community, in 2007, Pettus was included in the Inaugural Edition of Who’s Who In Black South Florida.
As founder/owner of PDFG, he does financial planning, specializing in the areas of: debt reduction, cash management planning, protection planning through insurance, investment planning, education planning, tax planning, retirement planning, estate planning, and small business planning.
Eric Pettus is a graduate of Towson University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences. Pettus has two daughters, Cierra and Ciana.
Amy M. Dawkins

Amy Dawkins is the co-founder of the Pettus & Dawkins Financial Group (PDFG). Being a native of Miami, Florida, Amy has seen the vast economic disparities that plague minority communities and is committed to positively impact the financial lives of those she comes into contact with. She realizes that PDFG has an obligation to effectively communicate financial knowledge to the masses. Amy takes great pride in helping individuals achieve financial independence by influencing their behavior and helping them make better financial decisions. Amy is proficient in the areas of: debt reduction, cash management strategies, protection planning, investment planning, retirement planning, education planning, tax planning, estate planning, and small business planning.
Prior to establishing PDFG, Amy was an advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services. She was with the company, formerly known as American Express Financial Advisors, for two years. During that time, Amy earned recognition and invitations to events, conferences, and seminars attended by some of the top-ranking advisors in the country.
Before entering the field of financial planning, Amy gained valuable experience in Corporate America. She has worked with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) as a vaccine sales representative responsible for increasing brand awareness and sales for their pediatric vaccine line in Chicago, IL. Amy has also worked for Toyota Motor Sales, Corp., in Torrance, CA, where she did marketing for Lexus. AirFlite Aviation Services, (a Toyota Subsidiary) later tasked Amy with the goal of improving their presence in the Fixed-Based Operations market. Amy’s impact led to AirFlite earning industry recognition, achieving increased customer satisfaction, and fostering a more cohesive work environment.
Amy also had the pleasure of working in Public Administration as a Public Management Intern for the City of Miami, District 5.
Amy is a graduate of Florida A&M University and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
